CABIN AT SPY ROCK

This 500 square foot cabin for a photographer on several acres of land features a panoramic view of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This economical “off the grid” structure serves as a base for mountain biking and a retreat for recharging the creative batteries. These images use computer modeling to demonstrate the solar angles on the winter solstice and on the summer solstice at noon. The order imposed by a 4’ module of plywood results in a contemporary expression of outpost architecture.
