Woven House

WOVEN HOUSE, WEAVERVILLE

The name of Weaverville is an appropriate metaphor for the interweaving of the different cultures and housing types to be found there. The original walkable town, with its 1920’s bungalow type, is interrupted by 1950’s ranch homes on acre lots. The result is a unique fabric. The site required that the desire for solar orientation, views, and privacy, be woven into tight setback constraints. The resulting Net Zero home provides a balance of solitude and community.
